Meine Barmenia is Barmenia’s online customer portal.

Customers can use it to manage insurance-related information and access digital services such as:

The same Meine Barmenia credentials can also be used with the BarmeniaApp.

The authenticator app is not the same as the BarmeniaApp. The BarmeniaApp gives you access to insurance services, while the authenticator generates the TOTP code used as an additional login factor.

How to Set Up a Barmenia Authenticator App

You can choose TOTP when configuring two-factor authentication for Meine Barmenia.

Step 1: Install an Authenticator App

How to Log In With a Barmenia Authenticator Code

Once TOTP is enabled, logging in generally requires three pieces of information:

1. Your Meine Barmenia username.
2. Your password.
3. The current TOTP code.

Open your authenticator when Barmenia requests the second factor.

Find the Barmenia entry and enter the code currently displayed.

The code is temporary and changes automatically after a short period.

Barmenia Authenticator Code Not Working

If Meine Barmenia rejects your TOTP code, check the following before resetting the authentication method.

Check Your Phone’s Time

TOTP codes depend on the current time.

If your phone’s clock is incorrect, your authenticator may generate a code that does not match Barmenia.

Enable:

Automatic date and time

Then reopen the authenticator and try again.

Use a Fresh Code

If the code is about to expire, wait for the next one.

Enter the new code immediately after it appears.

Select the Correct Barmenia Entry

If your authenticator contains several accounts, make sure you are using the Meine Barmenia entry.

A code generated for another account will not work.

Do Not Use an Old TOTP Setup

If Barmenia previously reset your TOTP authentication, the old authenticator entry may no longer be valid.

New Phone and Barmenia TOTP

Changing smartphones can interrupt access to Meine Barmenia if your authenticator data was stored only on the previous device.

If your authenticator supports backup or transfer and you still have access to your old phone, complete the migration before removing the old device.

After moving the authenticator, test your Meine Barmenia login before erasing the old phone.

If you do not have a backup or no longer have access to the previous authenticator, Barmenia requires the TOTP method to be reset before you can register it again on the new device.

Lost Access to Your Barmenia Authenticator

If your phone is lost, damaged, reset, or the authenticator entry is deleted, simply reinstalling the app may not restore the original Barmenia TOTP secret.

Creating another entry called “Barmenia” will also not recreate the correct codes.

When the original TOTP configuration is unavailable, contact Barmenia customer support and request a reset of the TOTP method.

After the reset, you can register TOTP again using the new setup information provided by Barmenia.
