How to Connect TikTok to an Authenticator App
After choosing Authenticator, TikTok provides setup information for your authenticator.

You can use either method.
Scan the QR Code
Open your authenticator app and:
- Tap Add account or +.
- Choose Scan QR code.
- Scan the QR code displayed by TikTok.
- Wait for a TikTok entry to appear.
The authenticator should then begin generating a temporary verification code.
Use the Setup Key
If scanning the QR code is inconvenient, TikTok also allows you to copy the provided key.
In your authenticator:
- Choose Add account.
- Select Enter setup key or similar.
- Paste the key provided by TikTok.
- Save the account.

How to Confirm TikTok Authenticator Setup
After adding TikTok to the authenticator app, you will see a temporary verification code.
Return to TikTok and enter that code on the next setup screen.
If TikTok accepts the code, the authenticator has been connected successfully.
The normal setup flow is:
TikTok Security → 2-step verification → Authenticator → Scan QR or enter key → Enter authenticator code
Keep the QR code and setup key private.
