Authenticator App for Kick: How to Set Up 2FA on Kick

kick.com ↗

A Kick authenticator app adds Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to your Kick account by requiring a temporary verification code in addition to your password.

Kick officially supports authenticator-based 2FA and currently uses Google Authenticator as the example in its setup instructions. The setup starts from your Kick Security settings, where Kick displays a QR code or setup code that you add to your authenticator.

Once 2FA is enabled, the authenticator generates a 6-digit code whenever Kick asks you to verify your identity.

Does Kick Support an Authenticator App?

Yes. Kick supports Two-Factor Authentication using an authenticator app.

Kick recommends enabling 2FA to help protect accounts from unauthorized access. Two-Factor Authentication adds a second security step after your password, making it harder for someone to access your account with stolen login credentials alone.

Kick also requires 2FA for certain account actions, including changing your username.

For streamers, enabling 2FA may also be required before accessing certain monetization features.

The important point is that you should always begin the setup from your Kick account security settings. Do not manually create a “Kick” entry in an authenticator without first getting the QR code or setup key generated by Kick.

How to Set Up an Authenticator App on Kick

Kick’s current setup process is straightforward.

Step 1: Sign In to Kick

Sign in to the Kick account you want to protect.

Make sure you are using the correct account before enabling 2FA, especially if you manage more than one channel or streamer profile.

Step 2: Open Kick Security Settings

Open your account settings and go to the Security section.

Find Two-Factor Authentication and select Enable 2FA.

Kick will then begin the authenticator enrollment process.

Step 3: Scan the Kick QR Code

Kick displays a QR code during setup.

Open your authenticator app and choose the option to add a new account by scanning a QR code.

Point your phone’s camera at the QR code shown on Kick.

If Kick provides a manual setup code, you may also be able to enter that code instead of scanning the QR code.

Step 4: Generate the 6-Digit Code

Once the Kick account is added, the authenticator starts generating temporary verification codes.

Kick’s current authenticator process uses a 6-digit code.

Wait for a fresh code to appear if the current one is close to expiring.

Step 5: Enter the Code on Kick

Return to Kick and enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator.

Select Continue Setup to verify the code.

If Kick accepts it, 2FA becomes active on your account.
